Beaufort County Hospital, a 142-bed acute healthcare facility, has an
active medical staff of nearly 50 physicians representing 20
specialties. These physicians, along with over 700 nurses, technicians
and other staff, emphasize quality and individualized patient care.
Without leaving the local area, you can choose such advanced treatments
as joint replacement surgery, cryotherapy, minimally invasive sentinel
lymph node biopsy as well as a full range of
vascular surgical services. In addition Beaufort County Hospital offers
an array of state-of-the art diagnostic testing including the latest
technology in CT scanning as well as a DEXA bone density scanner and
nuclear medicine cameras.
Quality cancer care is found right here at home at the Marion L. Shepard
Cancer Center. In an effort to improve the overall health of our
community we offer several cancer screenings as well as a number of
support groups and educational programs through our community outreach
program – Health Matters. Preventive care can be found at our LifeStyles
Medical Fitness Center, which offers physical fitness, health education
and wellness programs.
To enhance medical care to meet the changing needs of the region,
Beaufort County Hospital constantly seeks ways to expand and improve its
spectrum of services. In recent years, Beaufort County Hospital has
completed several renovation and expansion projects to better meet the
healthcare needs of the community. In addition, the Hospital recognizes
the need to partner more closely with local physician practices to
ensure that a broad range of healthcare services remain an integral part
of the local healthcare delivery system. The growth and expansion
continues with the addition of a 38,612 square foot modernization and
renovation project that will include a new surgical department, visitors
lobby and appropriate support space.
