Birdsong Orthopedic Group specializes in orthopedic care which involves the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases and injuries of the musculoskeletal system. Our scope of services include but are not limited to the following:

• Total joint replacement
• Full scope of hand and wrist surgery including carpal tunnel release
• Sports medicine & related injuries including shoulder and knee injuries
• Trauma and fracture care, surgical and non-surgical
• Arthritis surgery including joint replacement of shoulder, elbow, wrist, hand, hips, and knee
• Arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder, knee, elbow, wrist, and ankle
• Foot and ankle surgery
• Evaluation of acute neck and back injuries

Edward Birdsong, MD, FAAOS

Dr. Birdsong is a board certified orthopedic surgeon offering a full scope of orthopedic services. He has completed specialty fellowship training in hand, upper extremity, and micro-vascular surgery and is a member of the American Association of Hand Surgery. Dr. Birdsong lives in Washington with his wife, Dr. Debra Birdsong and their two sons, Christopher and Peter.
 

Rich Lovenberg, PA - C

Rich Lovenberg is Birdsong Orthopedic Group’s Board Certified, Physician Assistant. Rich has been a surgical physician assistant since 1985 and has been practicing specifically in orthopedic surgery since 1997.

Birdsong Orthopedic Group is open Monday - Friday from 8AM - 5PM. Patients are seen by appointment only. To make an appointment, please call 946-6515. If you need to cancel an appointment, please provide a minimum of 24 hours notice. If you need assistance after hours or during holidays, please call our office number and you will be connected to an answering service that will page the on-call physician.

If you are being referred by another physician, please have the referring physician’s office contact us as soon as possible to schedule your appointment.
 

Your Appointment

Please be sure to arrive on time for your appointment. Also, if you have any insurance information or information from your physician, please bring that as well. If you have had x-rays relating to your current problem, contact the physician who ordered them or the hospital where they were taken and have them sent to us or bring them to your visit. This will save you time and money associated with having new x-rays taken. If you are required to get x-rays at the time of your visit, our staff will provide this service on site. We have registered technologists and state-of-the-art equipment available at our office to take and process them while you wait.
 

Payment

Payment of routine services (such as office visits) as well as any insurance co-payments will be made at the time service is rendered. For your convenience, we do accept cash, check, MasterCard, or Visa. Our staff is available to answer any questions you may have about your account or to assist you in setting up a payment plan if necessary.
 

Please allow 24 hours for prescription refills. Prescriptions cannot be refilled on the weekends or during holidays.
