Behavioral Health Center

 

BCH Behavioral Health Center is an adult psychiatric inpatient unit that provides for the emotional and physical well being of each patient. The staff, led by an experienced board-certified psychiatrist, consists of experienced nurses, clinical social workers, therapists, and other clinical staff. Each patient receives a personalized treatment plan and can enter a comprehensive treatment program, often involving family and community-based services. Accredited by The Joint Commission and the NC Division of Health Service Regulation, the Behavioral Health Center offers seven-day programming, diagnostic assessments and evaluations, crisis medication stabilization and management, individual and group therapies, recreational therapies, patient and family education, discharge and referral planning, and observational services. The Behavioral Health Center accepts most major insurance plans, Medicaid and Medicare

Medically stable
Axis 1 Mental Illness Diagnosis
Suicide attempts
Suicide ideations
Homicidal ideations with poor impulse control
Actively psychotic
Disorientation or memory impairment severe enough to endanger welfare of self or others
Failure at less acute level of care
*the above is not all inclusive

 

 

Diagnosis of Dementia, without behavioral component which can be expected to respond positively to treatment in the inpatient setting
Severe developmental disability
Terminal illness without a treatable Axis 1 diagnosis
Inability to actively participate in treatment or to benefit from treatment
