Mission

The mission of Beaufort County Hospital Foundation is to enhance the health and wellness of the community through its financial support of Hospital services and programs that enrich the care and treatment of patients.

Giving Opportunities

Lights of Love Annual Fund
The primary role of the Foundation is to raise funds to benefit hospital projects and to foster community support of these efforts. The Lights of Love annual gift fund is central to the Foundation’s charitable purpose. Contributions to Lights of Love are designed to honor/memorialize an individual or celebrate an important life event. The honored parties are notified of the contributions and a symbolic light is placed on the Lights of Love tree on the hospital front lawn during the holiday season. Donations for this annual fund may be made any time of year and are used to support departments and services throughout Beaufort County Hospital.

Wellness Center Scholarship Fund
The Lifestyles Medical Fitness Center at Beaufort County Hospital is an integrative facility that combines a full-service fitness center with certified cardiopulmonary rehabilitation services. Donations made to the center are awarded as scholarships to members of our community who find it medically necessary to participate in wellness
programs but may not have the resources to take advantage of these opportunities.

Nursing and Allied Health Scholarship Program
As stated in our vision statement, Beaufort County Hospital recognizes its role in the development of the future health care workforce. Each year three to five scholarships are awarded to students who are currently enrolled in a nursing or allied health curriculum at one of our local colleges. The scholarship is $1,000 per semester for a total of $4,000 per student. This partnership program helps support local education while also investing in the development of our hospital’s future health care staff.

Modernization and Expansion Fund
Beaufort County Hospital’s current modernization and expansion project will substantially change the configuration and orientation of the hospital as well as dramatically alter and improve the exterior image. The Beaufort County Hospital Foundation is committed to raising funds for enhancements to the main lobby, chapel and surgical waiting area that will provide comfort and convenience for patients and visitors.
